About EarthCARE
With the launch of EarthCARE, ESA most complex Earth Explorer satellite to date, the scientific understanding of clouds, aerosols, and radiation is set to significantly improve. The satellite features a unique combination of four instruments working together to unravel some of the most enigmatic aspects of atmosphere. The data collected will be crucial for enhancing climate models.
EarthCARE data are free and open, allowing scientists and services to use them to build climate record data by combining with those from other missions, or by integrating the data to develop and improve applications.
An extensive network of scientists is waiting to validate EarthCARE data, by assessing them in comparison to reference data collected by other satellite, airborne, shipborne, and ground-based sensors.
To meet the needs of the Earth Observation community for easy access to data and user-friendly services that promote data sharing and scientific collaboration, ESA MAAP services provide the users with computing capabilities co-located with data, tools and algorithms to accelerate EO products improvement and enable simplified autonomous processing.
